I used to be pretty terrible at getting my daily fruits and veggies. A few years ago, I decide to try to eat a little better. Adding those elements to my diet was one of my first goals.
I found the easiest way to do this was to toss everything I needed eat into a smoothie.
This smoothie is as easy as adding milk, berries, flaxseed meal, an apple, and spinach into a blender. It shouldn’t take more than ten minutes from start to finish!
Three years later, this is still my daily midmorning snack!
It’s a quick, easy, and tasty way to work these food groups into your diet.
A few notes:
– I use cashew milk, but any milk should work for this smoothie.
– Frozen berries are the key! They make the smoothie nice and cold without ice, which means the smoothie doesn’t get watered down.
– This smoothie comes out a lot better in a Ninja/Nutra-bullet smoothie specific blender, but it works in a traditional blender too. However, if you use a more traditional blender, you may want to blend it for longer to make sure the spinach is really broken down.
– Feel free to experiment with fruit combinations! Bananas also work well in place of apples. (Just make sure one of your fruits is frozen to keep the smoothie cold without needing ice).
