sweet potato fries

These fries are so easy to make, and they taste delicious!

I love sweet potato fries, but for years I only ever got them when I went to a restaurant. And while I’ve tried some frozen fries, I’ve never tried any that I really loved. So I decided to make my own!

I’ve found these pair well with the Tuna Patties, but you can have these fries as a side to any meal where you’d have traditional fries. Or you can have them as a snack on their own.

A few notes:

  • For crispier fries, cut them thinner and/or cook them longer. You could also use an air fryer, though I haven’t tested that yet.
  • Feel free to mix up the spices and use others you’re a fan of.
  • For the sauce, I like to use the ratio of 1 teaspoon of maple syrup for every tablespoon of mustard, but you can add more syrup if you’d like your sauce sweeter or more mustard if you’d prefer it to be tangier.

Sweet Potato Fries with Maple Mustard Sauce Recipe

Servings: 4 people

Ingredients

  • 4 Sweet Potatoes
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 3 tbsp Mustard
  • 3 tsp Maple Syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the over to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Peel the potatoes and slice them to your desired thickness. For crispier fries, cut them thinner. For softer fries, cut them wider. Place slices in a large bowl.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over potatoes and toss until potatoes are complete coated.
  4. Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika over top of fries. Toss fries again until seasonings are evenly combined.
  5. Put parchment paper on a baking tray. Spread fries over the tray so they’re all flat and not on top of each other. Bake for 20-25 minutes, rotating the tray halfway through.
  6. While the fries are baking, make the dipping sauce by combining the mustard and maple syrup.
  7. When fries are done, allow five minutes to cool, then enjoy!
